Zumba — Reggaeton Blast

Reggaeton is a driving Latin beat with a strong, steady pulse, and in dance fitness it becomes a high-energy block built on squats, hip rolls, bounces and quick directional changes. It pushes the heart rate up and loads the legs and glutes, so it is one of the more demanding songs in a class.

Builds leg and glute endurance, improves core control and raises the heart rate sharply. The deep bounce and hip action work the lower body, and the quick pace builds stamina. It is also a fun, high-energy way to burn calories if you like strong beats.
Dance for 8 to 12 minutes, or two to three songs, using a moderate squat depth and a steady bounce. Warm up first, and reduce the depth and speed if the thighs begin to burn too early. Rest briefly between songs if needed.
Warm up first, because the deep squats and quick hip movements can strain cold knees and the lower back. Wear shoes with grip and stop if you feel pain in the knees or back.
Make it harderdeeper squats, faster tempo and bigger movements.
Make it easiershallow bounce with smaller hip movements.

Is reggaeton dance good for the glutes?

Yes. The squat-based bounces and hip movements load the glutes and thighs repeatedly, which builds endurance in those muscles.

Is reggaeton too intense for beginners?

It can be demanding, but beginners can keep the squats shallow and the tempo lower and still get a good workout.
