Sissy Squat

In the sissy squat the knees travel far forward while the torso leans back, placing a large stretch and load on the quads. It is a very quad-focused bodyweight exercise but needs caution at the knees.

Are sissy squats bad for the knees?

They load the knees heavily, so they are best for experienced lifters without knee issues, and should be done slowly with a support.

How can I make the sissy squat easier?

Hold a pole or rack for support and use a smaller range of motion.
