Mountain Climber

From a high plank, you drive the knees alternately toward the chest at pace. This bodyweight move trains the abs, shoulders and hip flexors while raising the heart rate, so it works as both a core exercise and a cardio drill.

2

4
Move at a controlled, sustainable pace to maintain form.
5

Work for 30 seconds on and 30 seconds off for 4 rounds, or use it as a finisher at the end of a circuit. Slow it down for core focus, speed it up for conditioning.
The wrists and shoulders bear body weight, so rest between rounds if they tire. Slow it down on sore wrists or use a bench under the hands.
Make it hardersliders on a smooth floor or cross-body climbers.
Make it easierincline mountain climbers with hands on a bench.

Is mountain climber good for fat loss?

It raises the heart rate and works many muscles, so it can be part of a fat-loss plan, along with a calorie deficit and regular training.

How fast should I go?

Fast enough to feel the heart rate rise, but slow enough that the hips stay low and the core stays tight.
